The next they is that why. Why do you need to money, "to compensate for the pain and suffering is no where near going to cut it. You better make it clear to them, why that money is needed. past medical bills, future medical bills, lost wages, future lost wages. All that comes in first. Then you could maybe talk about pain and suffering.
Here is something to talk about. Spend most of your time talking about whatever you think is important. A hint, as a teenager if you want to get your parent to buy you a car, you are going to spend most of your time convincing them that the case is somehow a necessity for you in that it will make it possible to go to school on time, stay late for tutoring, teach you responsibility , etc. You are going to spend a little time on the price of the car. In a jury trial, spend most of your time on deservibility and not as much time on the amount. That evidence is going to speak for itself.
Your client is half as important is the defendant. Look for every way to wife out any remorse the defendant may have had for your client, by making them appear to be as defensive as possible. IF the jury seems a lack of sympathy, they are more likely to punish the Defendant.
Speaking of your client. Let me tell you something, if you client is an ass_ole, a Miser, a rude, a fraud artist and all the other things that make you think they are less than decent. The jury will punish you for brining them out of their life routine and making them deal with your stupid client. Listen to me, if you have a shit client, don't file the suit.
Lastly, You. Please don;t go in there like don King. It's not about. Believe me, it's about your dam client. Be decent. If your one of those little rude argumentative kids, who's mother said you had a talent for being a lawyer, instead of teaching you manners please get a decent trial lawyer try your case.
