What statute constitutes a remedy for death caused by negligence on the high seas?

A: The DOHSA constitutes the exclusive remedy for deaths caused by negligence on the high seas.  Under the DOHSA, an action for damages may be maintained when a death results from a wrongful act, neglect, or default, and occurs on the high seas beyond a marine league from the shore of the United States or any of its territories or dependencies.
