What happens if I get in to a car accident and then the police officer calls me to speak to me a few days after the crash?

A: Ask the officer if you are being investigated for a crime. If he says yes, then it may be wise to exercise your constitutional right to remain silent. Otherwise he may just be calling you because he wants to shore up some details for his report. Answer the officers questions truthfully, and politey after listening to to the questions an making sure you understand what you are being asked.
