QUICK DO’S AND DON'TS OF CAR ACCIDENTS

Do      

•                     Call the police and report the accident. It is very important to have the police there because they will take pictures, interview witnesses, and provide evidence of fault. Besides, it is the law.

•                     Try to get the name and contact information of any witnesses, before you leave. Their testimony may become very helpful for later presentation in court.

•                     If you have pain, do not ignore it. Seek medical attention as soon as possible. Refusing to go the hospital right after an accident, may compromise your accident case as well as your health.

•                     Notify your insurance company.

Don’t

•                      Talk with the wrongdoer’s insurance company until you have consulted with an attorney.

•                      Sign any insurance company documents or papers without speaking with an attorney.
